Music profile

Past collaborations

The multi-year collaboration with the Philharmonic Choir of the City of Bonn has now introduced many students to classical, sometimes foreign-language choral music in interdisciplinary projects. Here they can test their creative skills and have unforgettable experiences. Examples include the “John Passion” by Johann Sebastian Bach, the oratorio “Saul” by George Frideric Handel, the melodrama “Pierrot Lunaire” by Arnold Schönberg and participation in performances of cantatas by the composers Ludwig van Beethoven, Arthur Honegger and Benjamin Britten. Other joint projects, including with surrounding parishes or the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, included the musical “Joseph” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and a Mozart program in the Beethovenhalle. The plan is to take part in a cross-city student project on Leonard Bernstein’s musical theater piece “MASS”.
The “music school” in our school has also maintained various contacts with extracurricular music partners for many years, primarily in the area of jazz.
