Dear “new” parents!
With the confirmation of a school place at the Elisabeth Selbert Comprehensive School, you can choose the following option in the subject of music if your child is interested and suitable:
a) Your child takes part in normal music lessons. Then you don’t need to read any further and you don’t need to do anything.
b) Your child can sing in the school choir.
Then you would have to be proactive enough to register your child for the choir. Instead of the usual music lessons, your daughter/son will receive basic training in voice training and singing in a parallel group. This offer is free of charge and your child will then receive a music grade for participating in the choir. – merlin.schiffers@esg.nrw.schule
c) Your child can learn an instrument in the orchestra.
You would have to register your child for the internal music school. This offer costs € 35.00 per month. Your child will receive an instrument from us, learn how to play it from professional instrumental teachers and receive a music grade for participating in the orchestra.
We wanted to hold a parents’ evening about our orchestra project on May 13, 2020, but the Corona crisis put a damper on our plans. For this reason, we have produced videos in which the instruments and our concept are presented. On this website you will find more information about instrumental training, short videos in which the instruments are presented and the instrumental schools we use are available for download. Registered orchestra children get this school anyway.
