City School Board
The City School Board (SSP) Bonn represents the parents and legal guardians of students at all schools in the Bonn city area. The SSP website contains a wide range of information (www.ssp-bonn.de).
For explanation
The School Board represents the interests of parents towards the school management and in the various participation committees. At the beginning of each school year, parents are elected to the school board in the classes or grades (as so-called class or grade board chairs + deputies). The school board usually meets four times per school year.
A large school like the Elisabeth Selbert Comprehensive School also has a large school board. The school board (chair and up to three deputies) prepares the meetings and ensures the implementation of the resolutions. He is in constant dialogue with the school management, teachers, the support association, the city school board, etc.
The school board also discusses proposed resolutions for the school conference. It is the school’s highest decision-making body and is made up of equal numbers of teachers, students and parents.
All members of the school community are warmly invited to volunteer at our school. In the library, in the cafeteria committee, in the student café, in the support association (www.fesg-bonn.de), in specialist conferences, etc. – there are many opportunities to get actively involved.
